Who I am
I didn't grow up planning to run for office. I grew up working hard, raising my girls and building something I'm proud of in Cumberland.
I had my first daughter at 20. I finished my semester at FSU and had her one week later. The two of us moved to Baltimore, where I became a special education teacher and worked on my Master's degree. I later pursued my PhD while pregnant with my second daughter and working full time.
I'm not telling you this because I want your sympathy. I'm telling you this because you deserve to know exactly who you're putting in that seat,
and what I know about doing hard things without a safety net.
I built a business in Cumberland because I believe in this city. I show up at volleyball tournaments for my daughters because family is everything. And I'm running for this seat because the people in District 1B deserve someone who fights for them the way I've fought for everything else in my life.
